According to the 2024 GLF Fraud Report, the complexity of fraud schemes in the telecom industry continues to grow, with fraud prevention now a top priority for 64% of carriers—the highest level recorded by the GLF, up from 39% in 2023. 

IRSF and smishing continue to pose a challenge, with fraudsters’ increasingly advanced tactics often outpacing carriers’ efforts to stop them. However, Artificially Inflated Traffic (AIT) remains the most reported fraud in international messaging (62%), while CLI spoofing tops concerns in voice fraud (55%).
